Two web apps: field data retrieval and WiseUp
In spring 2015 the project released two web applications.
Field data retrieval
Field data were scattered across PLCs, SCADA systems, databases and spreadsheets. FIGARO built a web service that delivers sensor data in near real time, first at the Picassent citrus site near Valencia. It offered two feeds:
- readings from nine FDR soil moisture probes, each measuring at four depths, logged and sent by GPRS;
- data from the regional (IVIA) weather stations, recorded every 30 minutes and available every 30 minutes or as daily values that include reference evapotranspiration.
Responses came in JSON or XML. Data from water meters, pumping stations and actual irrigation schedules were planned next.
WiseUp
WiseUp, developed by CER, helps choose a suitable irrigation strategy. It started as a standalone program for the partners and was to be improved over time.
