Greek press introduces the FIGARO project

Originally announced on 4 March 2013

One of the first articles about FIGARO appeared in the Greek daily press (enet.gr) in March 2013. It presented the project as a way to bring precision irrigation to Greek farms.

The article recalled that in Greece more than 85% of water consumption goes to irrigation. The stated aim was to match water use on each farm to what is actually available, to local weather and soil conditions, and to the needs of each crop. Cotton fields in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace later became one of the project's main test areas.
