First live demonstration of the platform in Xanthi, Greece
The Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) held the first live demonstration of the platform on 18 March 2016. It took place at the Laboratory of Ecological Engineering and Technology of the Department of Environmental Engineering in Xanthi.
The workshop was aimed at farmers, agronomists and water managers. It had three goals:
- introduce the decision-support platform;
- show how growers can use the data and tools available to them to farm more profitably while using less water;
- invite participants to the open field day planned for mid-May, during cotton sowing.
Dr Georgios Sylaios presented results from a trial in Magiko (Xanthi), and other speakers covered cotton nutrition and irrigation.
