Final FIGARO platform presented in Kavala
The finished platform was presented at the partners meeting in Kavala, Greece, on 1–2 June 2016.
The final system brings together:
- soil water sensors and weather stations;
- weather forecasts;
- hydraulic and crop models fed with both measured and forecast data.
From these it tells the grower how much to irrigate and when. It is modular: new sensors or agronomic models can be added, and each farm can configure it for its own needs.
Field days at the demonstration sites in Denmark, Greece, Israel, Italy, Portugal and Spain followed over the summer. A technical description is on the platform page.
